littlestown area school district

The Thunderbolt Foundation is proud to work with the LASD and board of directors to enhance learning opportunities and serve the community of Littlestown.  Through our partnership the Thunderbolt Foundation has provided the Littlestown Area School District with over $37,000 in grants to support teachers and students, scholarships, support for students in need, as well as a hydroponic growing system and a Storywalk!

caring and sharing holiday drive

The Thunderbolt Foundation works with the Caring and Sharing Holiday Drive which supports families and children throughout the Littlestown Area School district that are experiencing extremely challenging financial times.  The Thunderbolt Foundation provides a new pair of sneakers or snow boots for every child enrolled  in the program.

community aid

Donate your gently used clothing, household items, toys to Community Aid and give them our partner number 20101. As a partner with Community Aid, we receive payment for donations made. We then pay it forward and donate the money we receive from Community Aid to Littlestown’s Ruth’s Harvest.

All Community Aid nonprofit Product Partners are eligible to receive $300 in Care Cards per quarter upon request. We distribute these cards to the guidance departments in each school to give to students/families in need.

Community Aid has also provided us with two grants! One helped us purchase a hydroponic growing system for ACES and the other will help us to install a StoryWalk behind ACES!

Thank you Community Aid for your support!

littlestown’s ruth’s harvest

Each year the Thunderbolt Foundation holds clothing drives.  All of the donations are taken to Community Aid.  We receive a direct donation from Community Aid for all we donate.  The Thunderbolt Foundation then donates that donation to support Littestown’s Ruth’s Harvest.  If you can’t make one of our drives you can drop donations off at Community Aid and give them our name and we will be credited for your donation!

Adams county library funfest

Each year the Adams County Library hosts their annual Funfest event on the second Friday of June to kick off their summer reading program.  The Thunderbolt Foundation provides a storytelling tent where favorite book characters come to visit while children listen to stories about them!  The children then receive a free book about the book character!  It is a fantastic event for Adams County!

DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY

The Thunderbolt Foundation has teamed up with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Each month Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library will mail out a high quality, age appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family. The vision of the program is to foster a love of reading among Littlestown’s preschool children and their families. By mailing high quality, age appropriate books directly to their homes, Dolly wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could ensure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.
