The Thunderbolt Foundation is hosting the 1st Annual Great Cake Bake to support our Dolly Parton Imagination Library initiative! The foundation has partnered with the Dollywood Foundation to provide free age-appropriate monthly books to children from the ages 0 till they turn 5 who live within the Littlestown School District! The Thunderbolt Foundation pays for the cost of the books and mailing, and the Dollywood Foundation provides the low cost books and oversees the distribution of the books. The approximate amount the Thunderbolt Foundation contributes per child per year is $31. We currently have 211 children enrolled. Join us for games and get something to eat at one of the many food trucks!
Information and Forms for Bakers See Below:
We are asking local cake bakers to support our event by creating a book themed cake that will be part of a silent blind auction event. The cakes will also be voted on by attendees for the people’s choice award and we will also have a panel of local judges to choose the best of the event. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Imagination Library initiative.
The Theme for our first event is Celebrating 30 years of the Imagination Library. The donated cakes should represent one of the books listed below. All of these books represent books that children will receive this year through the program.
Cake and Decorating:
All entries must be made of real cake or cake substitutes (such as cereal bars). Styrofoam dummies are not allowed.
All entries must be completely edible. Entries, including decorations, must be 100% edible except for columns, supports, wires and stamens. No ribbons or other non‐edible decorations will be permitted. Any basic cake that fits within the theme is acceptable.
Thank you for your consideration in supporting our event!
